Airplay stopped working

Just updated to IOS 8.1.2 in hopes of resolving some issues but now AirPlay no longer works. When I tap Airplay, mirroring no longer comes up, just AirPlay. Tried Airplay with my wife's new IPod Touch and it works just fine, AirPlay and mirroring show and sends the pic to the TV as it should.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

All you have to do, is scroll. Mirroring is hidden below:

Thanks, found mirroring as suggested, clicked on it but will not send the iPad screen pic to the TV. Pick up wife's IPod Touch and it works fine. Checked the wifi on both the iPad and Apple TV and both are the same. Everything worked before upgrading IOS.

You'll have to slide the button to enable Mirroring, it will look like this:

If you use Apple TV for mirroring, make sure it's up to date.

There have been some issues with AirPlay and mirroring since the iOS 8 update. Not everyone experiences them, but a significant number of people are. Hopefully it will be resolved in a bug fix update, soon.

Apple re-worked a lot of the discoverability and networking code to make the new continuity features work, and looks like they introduced some bugs. Anyway, that's the general consensus of the tech blog community.

Update on the AirPlay problem. Have Apple TV open on the TV with all the movie and TV shows, etc options showing. When I go to AirPay on my IPad and turn on mirroring the TV screen goes blank, turning off mirrowing brings Apple TV back to the TV screen. Does it every time turning mirrowing on and off.

Can this be fixed or does Apple have to fix bugs in IOS 8.1.2?

Is your Apple TV up to date? The latest software for 3rd generation is 7.0.2, for 2nd generation is 6.2.1.

Just finished the update to Apple TV, did not solve the problem!

Restart and reset router, Apple TV and iPad.

This also helped others:
They turned on Bluetooth on their iPad, and went to Settings - Airplay on the Apple TV and turned on Conference Room Display.
