Have discovered with a bit of experimentation that you can connect an akai mk mini USB laptop keyboard to an iPad using a USB hdd y cable a usb extension cable and the camera connection kit to play tunes on GarageBand on your iPad.
Connect the small end to the USB socket on the keyboard, the main USB connector to your iPad via the camera connection kit and the short USB connector to an iPhone. Or iPad usb charger via the USB extension cable.
