New photos surfaced today on Chinese social media site Weibo, claiming to be leaked images of the iPad Pro. Since there's nothing around for scale in the photos, it looks like it could be any iPad out on the market today. However, looking at one of the sides of the alleged device, there seems to be a new port.
Unfortunately from the photos you can't really make out what kind of port this is. On one hand it could be a second Lightning port, maybe for use with keyboard accessories or something. But more likely, on the other hand it could be a USB-C port, found in Apple's newly released MacBooks.
A USB-C port would make a bit more sense. USB-C is capable of supporting a myriad of different ports and accessories, including HDMI output for PowerPoint presentations and such. USB-C would also be able to connect adapters for USB 2.0, media cards, and more.
Of course this could all be a hoax and just some random knockoff overseas. Although earlier in March, The Wall Street Journal did report that the iPad Pro would feature a USB 3.0 port. Only time will tell, take these photos with a pinch of salt.
