We have been hearing speculation pointing towards Apple launching the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 for some time now. Noted KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, has recently issued some predictions for future Apple tablet roll-outs, adding some new information. According to him, the next gen iPad and iPad mini 2 are going to be launched on the market in Q4 2013. He even pinpoints the most likely month this is going to happen – November. Does this ring a bell? Yes, Apple did the same just last year.
More than that, the iPad 5 will feature an A7X native Apple processor. But according to him, the fully fledged tablet is not going to be the only one getting this treatment. The iPad mini 2 will also feature the same kind of processor which will certainly boost its performance. The prediction makes sense, since the next gen iPad mini will need to up its speed to run the Retina Display.
But that’s not all. Surprise surprise, Apple is supposedly going to separately launch another cheaper version of the iPad mini. The low cost tablet will feature an A6 chip instead, just like the iPad 4, iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5G. Kuo believes that the tech giant will launch the tablet on the market somewhere in 2014. With this strategy in mind, it’s very possible that the current version of the iPad mini will be priced lowered next year. On the other hand, Apple might consider revamping its hardware, just like it did with the iPad 2 back in 2012. The above information should be taken accordingly, but Kuo holds a decent track record when it comes to predictions.
