One of Apple's greatest skills in the mobile world is developing an aesthetically pleasing product. With clean lines and a fluid, organic design, the iPad has always been a sublime device. The other notable thing about their devices is that they are among the thinnest and lightest around. In fact, you could easily argue they specialize in thin and light and pioneered the industry in that regard. The new iPad 5 promises to be their thinnest yet and a new leaked measurement confirms that. According to the leaked pic above, the iPad 5 will measure in at only 7.35mm thin/thick!
This measurement ranks the device as the third thinnest overall. It is only beat out by it's cousin in second place, the iPad Mini at 7.2mm, and the Sony Xperia Tablet Z in first place at 6.9mm. Keep in mind that Apple has achieved this with an aluminum frame, unlike their competitors who primarily use plastic. For additional comparison's sake, the current iPad 4 measures at 9.4mm! Apple keeps achieving amazing feats of engineering.
