Information coming from the famous tech rumor mill DigiTimes brings news that Apple might start production of its fifth-generation iPad somewhere during the months of July and August.
As expected, the device will probably end up being thinner and lighter, with a design that’s more reminiscent of the iPad mini with its thinner bezel. The LCD panels for the tablet will be provided by LG Display and Sharp. The assembly process falls into the hands of TPK and ITO. However, DigiTimes voices some concerns related to whether or not the suppliers will be able to produce as many key parts to fit the demand.
Recently, significant deals have been spotted on websites suchas Best Buy or shopping centers such as Walmart, which made some believe that the tech giant was ready to announce its new iPad as soon as this month. But with production starting as late as July/August, we’re not going to be seeing the fifth generation iPad for a while. Apple launched its latest tablet in November alongside the iPad mini – making it maybe a little too soon for a new device to appear just yet? But Apple did change the pattern when it released the current iPad extremely soon after its predecessor.
But is Apple really willing to miss the April-May season when all schools are purchasing supplies for the next year and after that, the back-to-school spree? We should probably ask that first, before taking the rumor as an exact truth.
