MacRumors reports today that Apple has started offering education pricing for the Retina iPad Mini and iPad Air, representing a reduction of $20 off the price of the former and $30 reduction for the latter.

In order to qualify for the education pricing discount, you must be an employee of a K-12 school, or faculty, staff, student, or parent of a student at a higher education facility.

MacRumors says that this is the first time that the iPad has featured in the education pricing program, which also includes the first-gen iPad mini and fourth-gen iPad, as well as refurbished older iPad variations. Until now, it was only various Mac and MacBooks that were included in the education pricing offer from Apple, with the price of a non-Retina 13-inch MacBook Pro discounted to $999 previously, as well as discounts for all Mac computers in Apple’s education store.
