Another of the major new features of iOS 11 that Apple announced yesterday at WWDC17 is a completely revamped App Store featuring all-new Today, Games, and Apps tabs.
The new App Store has been designed from the ground up to make it easier to discover apps and games. The all-new Today tab, featuring original stories and editorial, will be the first thing that you see when you open the app. All three new tabs will feature in-depth interviews, useful tips, and curated collections of essential apps and games.
Apple announced yesterday that more than 180 billion apps have know been downloaded from the App Store, and Apple has paid out more than $70 billion to developers since the store launched in 2008.
“Together with our incredible developer community, we’ve made the App Store the best app platform in the world, and more than 500 million unique customers visit it every week,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Now, we are taking everything we’ve learned from the App Store over the past nine years and putting it into a stunning new design. Every element of the new App Store is richer, more beautiful and more engaging.”
