Apple’s Watch may be in retail stores very soon as the company has begun training its retail store employees on the upcoming device in multiple countries, including the US and the UK. Mark Gurman from 9to5Mac reports:
Apple today began training its retail store employees in multiple countries, including the U.S. and the U.K, about the upcoming Apple Watch. The training is said to not divulge many new details, but the beginning of the training program does represent Apple’s first move on the retail employee level in preparing for the Watch. We reported last week that Apple is preparing to use traditional jewelry store tactics for the gold version of the Apple Watch. Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the wearable will launch by April. Apple will begin flying out select employees for more hands-on training over the next couple of weeks.
Apple executives had started planning retail strategies for the Watch back in the middle of last fall and now it seems that they are ready to start training several retail employees, as well.
The fact that training has already started could suggest that the Apple Watch could be coming to stores sooner than expected. Rumor has it that Apple could use traditional jewelry store tactics for its gold variant of the watch.
The training programs could take place between February 9 and 16, according to reports. Tim Cook recently revealed at the Apple’s earnings call that the Apple Watch would be available in stores only by April.
