There's a new and interesting Apple Watch YouTube video posted by video blogger Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy. Hilsenteger got hold of a pre-production display cover made of the same Ion-X glass that is part of the new Apple Watch Sport. He decided to see how well it holds up to some torturous scratch tests.
We won't spoil the video for you, but let's just say the glass of the Apple Watch Sport will hold up to quite a bit of punishment, and you will probably have to go out of your way to scratch it. Of course, it's also important to note that the Ion-X glass found on the Apple Watch Sport is not the same thing which will be used by the higher-end models of the Apple Watch.
Those devices will have the Sapphire glass which is even more scratch resistant than the Ion-X glass. Of course, the reason the Apple Watch Sport is more affordable is because they used less expensive materials than is found on the Stainless Steel or Gold models. Still, despite that, it's reassuring to see that Apple has made sure to use a very resilient material for the Apple Watch Sport.
