MacRumors is as usual getting some good scoops on the iPad 3 prior to the launch in February, and today the site has a report where it says that it has managed to obtain what is said to be an iPad 3 display. MacRumors says that it has literally put the display under the microscope, in order to find out if it is in fact a high-res Retina display. MacRumors says that at first glance, the new display looks very similar to that of the iPad 2, and it is in fact the same size, but when examined under a microscope, the difference in resolution between the iPad 2 and the iPad 3 is obvious. According to MacRumors, the iPad 3 display’s pixels are approximately one-quarter the size of the iPad 2’s. Their investigations have led them to conclude that the iPad 3 will in fact have a full resolution of 2048x1536 megapixels, which is, to be exact, twice the linear resolution of the iPad 1 and iPad 2, which come in at 1024x768.[/FONT]
