AppleInsider reports today that Apple’s AppleCare department has been told by the company to get ready for a big rise in iOS enquiries from customers from Monday, October 10 onwards, which could be a very good indication that that is the day that Apple will release the software. According to AppleInsider’s sources, one local AppleCare center had been told to expect to have to handle eight times more customer call traffic than usual on October 10. It’s also thought that Apple will be releasing iCloud on the same day, which would explain such a high rise in calls. Apple Insider says that although it cannot verify the source of the story, the tip provided by the source had very specific call volume figures, which leads AppleInsider to believe that the details could be accurate. In terms of the release of the next iPhone, releasing iOS 5 on October 10 and then the next iPhone roughly a week or so later sounds like optimum timing for Apple.
