Summer may have only just started, but Apple is thinking ahead as always and has just launched its Back to School promotion for this year, according to MacRumors. The scheme offers those involved in the academic world who qualify an Apple Store gift card for $100 when they purchase a new Mac, or a $50 gift card when purchasing an iPhone or iPad.
As MacRumors notes, this year’s promotion is a little different than previously, with Apple giving out Apple Store gift cards rather than iTunes, App Store, or iBookstore gift cards as it has done in earlier years.
All Mac purchases count towards the scheme, with the exception of the Mac mini, and all iPads and iPhones currently on sale are also eligible.
The promotion runs from now until September 9, and is currently only available in the United States, but MacRumors says that Apple is also expected to launch the promotion in several other countries, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
