Here's the decorative brickwork being installed on the new neighborhood grocery store.

Views in Knightsbridge. The large store might be known to some of us. ;)

London's skyline is changing. Look carefully onto the distance. The Shard at London Bridge station is visible as a terminal vista.

Nice pics as usual Richard, with the architecture that distinguishes London. At least the parts of it I like:) Is that somewhat shaky shot of the interior of Harrods in the 5th photo? When I was there, they didn't allow interior photos at least in the food pavilion, from memory. A quick grab shot from the hip?;)

Wasn't he Princess Diana's prospective father in law? Probably used a solid gold Dunhill lighter to burn those warrants;)

Yes, I took it on the way into the butchers hall. As you say, I grabbed a rapid pic on the hoof (see what I just said! ;) ), to get around the "No Photos" rule. :)

I remember reading that the owner of Harrod's burned his Royal Warrants.

Yes, he did. He fancied that he would be the father-in-law, but no chance...

I realize that Europeans chuckle at the thought of buildings from the 13th Century being "old," but these have, after all, lain abandoned for quite some time. (Scanned from Ektachrome slides that had faded a bit since taken in 1974. The fetching young lady is my wife.)

Great pictures! My previous house was a 14th century bake house which I never thought of as old but looking at those photos I realise just how long ago that time was!

Edit: ah, I just realised I posted the wrong period!!! Only three centuries out but corrected now! D'oh!

Wow Lanny :). Without googling, are these early native Indian dwellings in Western USA? I'm sure I read about them in the National Geographic. Many many years ago.

No need to google them. The pictures are labelled. :-)

@Richard: yes, though by all means Google for more information on these interesting ruins.

In the summer of 1969, I was a park ranger at Mesa Verde, and led tours through Balcony House.
