What's new

Are you a new MEMBER??? PLEASE READ BEFORE STARTING A NEW THREAD!!!

Welcome! We are glad to have you as part of this forum! Here are a few tips to get you started!

Ipadforums.net is committed to helping you maximize your enjoyment of your iPad. The best way to get a good answer is to ask a good question!

1) Download a copy of the iPad User Guide. It is available for free in several different formats.

a) As a free PDF download from the Apple website --
http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad

This can (and should!) be saved on your computer and your iPad.

b) As a free iBook once you download the free iBook app from the iTunes App Store.

c) Online using the link provided in the Safari favorites on your iPad.

The answers to many questions, especially if this is your first Apple mobile "iDevice", can be answered by spending some quality time with this handy document.

2) Be descriptive in the topic title. A title such as HELP!!! is not very, well, helpful! If you do post or create a thread please be complete.. :example

Q: Why is my ipad crashing??

Correct Q: My iPad is jailbroken and when i open facebook it crashes.

3) In the body of your post, be sure to include whether your iPad is "stock" or jailbroken. This forum fully supports your right to jailbreak your iPad and there is no reason to keep it a secret. It may be the source of your issues and we won't know that unless you tell us.

4) Search Search Search!!! I cannot stress this enough! There are many threads on this forum don't start a new thread just because your too lazy to search....(they will be removed without notice)

5) Installous isn't a topic that can be discussed here on the ipadforums.

It is important that one understands this is a private forum so we ask that you read our rules:

http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

Finally if you are new to Apple and itunes it is recommended to read this thread as it provides many answers to basic questions regarding itunes.

Thank you for reading this thread.

When you receive an email that somebody replied to your post, you can't answer right away. You have to login first. The link will take you to iPF in website view.

Try using Tapatalk. That's an app. When you want to see threads where you posted, go to the Subscribed option there. Then you can answer.

Here's an excellent tutorial for the app, everything you need to know:

I wanted to post to twerp poet but the link he sent me brought me to this thread, but not to his post. As usual the click on in email doesn't take U where u want to go. Now I forgot his message.lol
Think it was not to reply to email, which I already know but to tap link which is what brought me here. Same old story

Maybe someone can tell me how to get to the RIGHT THREAD!

Found that long and confusing. Do not like tapatalk! Must be an easier way to get to forum!

That would be my fault. After re-reading your post I decided I'd misunderstood and my reply was useless. I deleted it on the theory that you had not read it yet; it was only a couple minutes. There was no post for the link to find. Sorry.

I turned off the email notifications a long time ago, for everything except private messages and moderator/admin messages. Otherwise my mailbox is too busy. Besides, I'm here almost every day. Checking Watched Threads (Subscriptions) first makes sure I don't miss anything in threads I've posted or subscribed to. Then I work my through the rest of the new posts, reading, replying, or subscribing to whatever time and mood permit.

You might want to check it out again. They've just done a UI update, and while it's still not as simple as the iPF app was, it's better.

The website is actually pretty usable from the iPad and Safari. Far better than the old site was.

I tend to bounce between the two, depending on mood and what I'm trying to do.

That said, I am on the computer right now, and that is still my most common method of accessing the forum. It's much much easier to be my overly wordy self when I have keyboard and a huge screen.

There are two choices: website or Tapatalk. The old app doesn't work any more.

Well, then, how do u go directly to website? I've been doing that but just thru email notifications. Wouldn't know how to get here otherwise.lol
