Press the home button and the power button simultaneously for 10 to 15 seconds until the Apple logo appears onscreen. Release both buttons and wait until the iPad reboots. You should be good to go.

That did the trick! I did try this earlier, but I apparently did not hold down the two buttons long enough. It's alliiiiiiiiive!! It's ALIIIIIIIIVE!

I have seen a number of threads with titles like, "what are the five things you hate most about your iPad?" or "what do you hate about your iPad?"

Why would anyone buy a product that they hate, or that frustrates them. Unless of course you just go out an splash £599 on a gadget because you have nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon and more money than sense.

The iPad has some limitations, sure. But they are known and well documented. Mostly through threads like this :) But if you do the research on other products which you might purchase as alternatives they all have limitations.

Personally I am growing to like the iPad more and more. I am a Windows PC user of very long standing (Hand built my first xt compatible pc in 1993). I even stuck with Windows mobile on my phone (having tried Palm OS briefly). But now I have this piece of kit, I wouldn't be without it.

I have a Windows laptop at home which is only switched on so I can do some iDisk folder maintenance and sync iTunes. Apart from that, it is redundant. I no longer use a work desktop or laptop at the University and can carry all the papers, for all the committees and meetings; my diary; my work and home email and my iPod with me everywhere I go.

In short, I am very very happy with the iPad. I can see some areas where it would be good if further development happened. But not many that are relevant to what I need from this machine.

Anyway, you know what Monty Python always said...

..."nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition."

Ha ha ha!
Brilliant post. Make some good points and yes, polls are somewhat drab sometimes, but it may be useful to some potential buyers?

I had my 160GB iPod stolen so I got this giant 64GB iPod :p

Glad you're enjoying your iPad!

Okay, I got the iPad to come back from the dead, but I have another beef. I've been trying to sync my photos to the iPad, but I keep getting a message saying there's not enough room. Yet, iTunes shows 3 GB of free space remaining. So, I selected the various folders I really wanted, and it copied just the first folder and then gave me the same message about not having enough room. This time there was more than 5 GB of free space remaining. What am I doing wrong here?

Problems with I pad

No flash support . I try to follow my football team wherever I travel but this depends on flas player. Really ticked off . A must for something this expensive.

The no flash support can be annoying, hope HTML 5 and YouTube videos converted to it can be viewed. It's so hurtful when I can watch BBC iplayer but not the channel 4 equivalent of iplayer, for that i have to use laptop

Why not accept the fact and use the laptop when you really need to watch flash web sites or watch flash movies it really is not a big deal It has been a known fact that flash will not happen for more than 9 months on iOS platform if it is such a big issue either use alternative software available or if that does not work just move on buy an alternative mobile device.... Then you will find some thing else you really need is not available There is no perfect solution to suit every one

Hate how I have to use an app for YouTube, and the if someone posts a YouTube video in facebook it doesn't work..... Cuz you need app, and facebook chat doesn't work

biggest annoyances

My biggest gripe with ipad is that under normal circumstances if you buy software, then, don't like, get sick of or for some other reason you don't want it anymore, you can sell it off. Not with the ipad!!!!

Catchyalater!!!!

You want the option to resale a $3 app? LOL

Even the "expensive" apps at $10 wouldn't be worth reselling.

I would have to agree what's the point. Applications on windows or Mac platform can cost hundreds and in some cases Thousands like Archicad. Sure some day you may wish to sell them however licensing issues can cause headaches . I see no point selling used iPad apps besides whom ever purchased them would not be able to upgrade the apps with out the original users email and password.

No folders for photos

I imported over 4500 photos and they are not in the folders they were on my computer. It doesn't give any guidance on how to organize the photos.
