BMW is boasting that it’s the first car manufacturer to integrate the iPad into the back of headrests for the entertainment of the passengers sitting in the rear. The photo was taken at the 2010 Paris Motorshow, and comes courtesy of a report on AutoSpies, which points out some of the interesting things that the photo reveals about the way in which the iPads have been fitted into the seat backs, such as the fact that the passenger sitting in the back seat can rotate the iPad in whichever direction they see fit, and the neat way the power chord runs into the seat.
Engadget picked up the story but doesn’t seem to like the way in which the iPads are integrated into the BMW seat backs one little bit, even going so far as to call it “an abominationâ€, although it does make mention of the snazzy BMW logo on the mounting brackets!
