Have just joined the forum after being given for my birthday a most wanted iPad!
I live mostly in France and love the way I can take the iPad everywhere with me and keep in touch with everyone back in England.
I already have an iPod and wonder if I can download my music from the iPod to the iPad.
Hopefully someone here will know!

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

No problem to transfer your music to the iPad - iTunes is your friend...
If you 'sync' up and 'transfer purchases' you're in business..

But there are far far more expert iPad/iTunes members here - so wait a while and get some help..great to have you 'on board'

Hope you're enjoying yourself in France - I wish I was there now..

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

Apple - Support - Manuals

It’s free too.

You can, through iTunes, just set the music to sync when your iPad is connected but AFAIK you can't do it directly between the iPod and iPad.

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for your help. I will keep trying and see what happens!
The only trouble is, I seem to spend a great deal of my time on my iPad and not doing much else!

Welcome, Cathy! What you are experiencing is iPadititis. Counseling may help ~ but it I seriously doubt it.
