MrLuke said:Another good guess . And here is what that student wrote down:
"This."
Reasoning:
By doing this, the student demonstrated that he/she understood that having your grade based on one exam is risky.
Plus, putting just one word on such an important exam and hoping the professor understands what he means is risky in itself.

No plan like yours to study history wisely.
Q What does this relate to?
Q What is the interpretation of the sentence?

Richard Brown said:This one relates to Scotland. I am afraid I don't remember the answer - well it's 45 years or so since I heard it!
A long climb for me. That's the mnemonic.

The mnemonic was devised by my geography teacher, Mr Pass.
I have 2 alternative possible answers. I'm sure our Scottish contingent can help.

Three cars had driven into a parking lot at the same time, and the three drivers left them all for the attendant to park. Unfortunately, he isn't too good at remembering exactly which driver drove which car. However, he is sure of these 6 facts: a. Colin drove the BMW if and only if Mr. Cooper drove the Avenger. b. Alan drove the Cortina if and only if Mr. Cooper drove the BMW. c. Colin is Mr. Brown if and only if Mr. Andrews drove the BMW. d. Brian is Mr. Andrews if and only if Colin drove the BMW. e. Mr. Cooper drove the Avenger if and only if Alan is Mr. Brown. f. Colin is Mr. Brown if and only if Alan drove the Cortina. Who arrived with which car?

Our toaster has snug fitting rubberised cool grips to the handles of the lift out basket. See photo: -

Whenever we use the toaster, the grips slide partially off the handles. I am sure to push the grips firmly home, whenever they try to work off the handles, but the movement reoccurs. One day I watched the toaster through a toasting cycle, and saw the grips moving on their own!
Weird!
I would love to know why this happens. Any ideas? I have an idea of sorts but would love some ideas.
Cheers.
