Brain teasers

This one relates to Scotland. I am afraid I don't remember the answer - well it's 45 years or so since I heard it!

A long climb for me. That's the mnemonic.

Again,any guesses?
The mnemonic was devised by my geography teacher, Mr Pass.
I have 2 alternative possible answers. I'm sure our Scottish contingent can help. ;)

OK, here's another hint. Travel from west to east to get the majority of the answer. Come on you geographers you should be able to get this one! :)

Here's a new one.

Tell me what the following numbers relate to. A detailed breakdown of your answer would be nice.

97-99
88-91
90-93
92-95

Don't overdo the detail. :)

I've been staring at the pages of my atlas for about 30mins... Don't feel any closer to an answer.

OK, here's a clue to one of my teasers: -

It is United Kingdom related ...............

The teaser is: -

. Here's a UK themed one.

. No plan like yours to study history wisely.

. Q What does this relate to?

. Q What is the interpretation of the sentence?

I hope the extra clue helps :)

Right, the girlfriend has just looked at this and said....Easy!! Don't tell me your struggling with it...........no, I've just been sat here for 2 hours blowing bubbles and re-reading it about 2000 times.

I can see someone sleeping with the spiders in the shed tonight if she doesn't share some info LOL

You should be sent to The Tower, Rambler! :D. That's another hint! Some of them tended to do that. :)

The answer has a relationship with economic geography. ;)

Arrange nine nines--that is arrange nine number nines in such a way they equal 100. No Googling, please.

(((9 x 9)+9) + ((9 x 9)+9) / 9) x 9/9

((81 + 9) + (81 + 9) / 9) x 1

(90 + (90 / 9)) x 1

(90 + 10) x 1

100 x 1

100

It should be possible to do it without the parenthesis, but I'm too lazy to figure that out.

Tooooooooooo complex.

Think fractions: How about 99 and 99/99=100 perhaps? 99/99=1 and 1+99=100

I'll leave that to someone else. There should be any number of solutions to this problem. ;)

I'll have a crack at this tomorrow as a break from exam revision :P. Nothing like a good brain teaser.
