Camera Connection

This may sound really off the wall but you don't happen to have a two ended USB cord like a USB extension cord. Because then couldn't you put your CCK in the iPad stick one end of the USB in the CCK and then stick the other end into the plug that goes in the wall. My charger for the iPad, one end is the same as the connection on the CCK to stick into the iPad, the other end is a USB that goes into the plug that goes in the wall. That way couldn't you tell if it is actually connecting to the iPad if it starts charging. Please don't laugh, I'm trying to think of anything here. What do you think?

Hi Leelai - interesting thought - now the iPad docking slot is a 30-pin connector port - the important question(s) (that I cannot answer) is whether a limited number of these pins are used for charging vs. other pins used for the CCK - not sure that I'd want to try to run 10W of power into a pre-iPad USB connector w/o some knowledge or guarantee that the iPad will not be damaged.

The easiest choice if a functional CCK is desired is to simply buy a new or used one whether from Apple or a 3rd party producer? :)

So true. I did think about the different powers, especially after seeing a thread today about a DIY docking station in a car. But I knew you guys would catch me and you have. Thank you Just thought I'd throw it out there though. Hope you didn't laugh too much :)

Of course not! I always love to tinker, but I just had a picture in my mind of a 'smoking & burning' iPad - :D
