Can I Restore a 3.2 iPad without updating to 3.2.1?

I just bought a used iPad yesterday. I tried to jailbreak it with Spirit, seemed like everything went ok with the jailbreak, but when i try to open cydia, all the icons burst away, and then nothing happens.

so i want to restore to factory and rejailbreak

The iPad currently has 3.2 firmware on it. Is there any way to restore it without updating to 3.2.1?

I downloaded the 3.2 firmware from multiple sites, and tried to force a restart through itunes, then clicking restore while holding shift, and selecting the 3.2 ipsw file. but i get an error message.

is there anyway around this?

Nope, you jailbroke your ipad to late in the game, you are now going to be stuck with 3.2.1 and waiting for the updated 3.2.1 jailbreak.
