Can I Wipe the Mic Area of New iPad with Damp Cloth ?

Hi Guys,

I have the New iPad Wi-Fi+Cellular I wanted to know if I wipe the Back Area of the iPad the Black Strip area with a Damp Cloth just where the Mic is situated on the back of the iPad? Will it let inside any Moisture ? is it ok to do that ? Apple says to Clean the iPad with a Damp Cloth

But at the same time Apple also says please do not let any moisture go inside from any of the opening in your device. Will doing this let any moisture inside ? Can I wipe it ? It is gonna be just a damp cloth with all water squeezed out and is just marginally moist to be called wet. But certainly no water dripping ?

It won't cause any trouble if you don't have too much moisture in the cloth. If you feel unable to gauge whether it is too wet or not, don't do it.

I knew this would come up that dont do it ! But since you say if I cant gauge it...It means there is a possibility, is it of Moisture going inside that opening on the Mic area ?

Your making way to much of this IMHO....

Wet down a cloth and wring out all extra water.........then wipe it down. Your good to go......

Yeah...I know...Maybe... But Just want to ensure that in doing so...It does not get any moisture inside.

Hi there if there' a seam or an opening ...No Moisture. The Mic should be visible as a 1/8 inch opening above the front camera lens but on back side of iPad.

So are you saying the area I have indicated in the Picture does not have a Mic in the First place ?

That is exactly where your arrow is pointing. It is the mic. Flip to the front you will see the front facing camera there.

Yes, if there is too much moisture on the rag then water will go into the little hole. Note that most people can figure this out and do it without any problems. It is not hard. There is no secret or special technique. Use your good sense.
