Can't get 5Ghz on iPad3 with google mesh wifi

I have a Google wifi mesh (non nest) that works very well on my PC @2.4Ghz & 2 iPhone8's on 5Ghz but can only get 2.4 on my iPad3

I tried to forget this network & rebooting ipad & modem & wifi mesh with no luck. I do not even see 5Ghz any where on my iPad, according to what I have read it should work on 5Ghz.
