UPDATE: Companions is now available on the App Store!


smuttlewerk interactive is proud to announce "Companions", a dungeon crawler/rpg for Apples iPad.

The game is in 2D top-view with beautiful graphics and love for detail in every aspect of the game.

You guide a party of four warriors through dungeons in the world of Altland, trying to stop the false god Detexx and his evergrowing "hordes of nether"!

The party consists of an elf lady, a mighty minotaur, an ambitious human and a ingenious dwarf.

Each race is further divided into three classes, each class with unique skills! Replayability is guaranteed. Visit our blog for more info on the different classes!

The game will be available in May 2011.

Prepare yourself and become one of Altlands legends!

we are currently featured as New & Noteworthy in the USA and Canada and want to celebrate this fact with a little contest.

Companions is a RPG - Dungeon Crawler mix and believe me, it is a HUGE game!




Here's what you have to do in order to win the 333$ (payPal account required!):

1. Download Companions (4.99$)

2. Start the campaign. There will be a small dialogue between two cultists who stand guard (after playing with the dwarf). One of the guards has a name. What is the guards name? <-- That's the question!

3. Finish the first map. On the second map you'll be asked to do an "old heap of bones" a favor. Accept his proposal and leave a honest review on the App Store.

Companions 1.2 and Companions Lite

Hey fellow gamers!

The new version of Companions is now available on the App Store.

We implemented things like group movement, a new save menu, several new items and fixed some very nasty bugs. Additionally we had the whole story proofread by a native speaker, so most grammar/spelling issues are a thing of the past!

For all of you who want to try before buy: a lite version of Companions is now available. It features the first campaign map (a really huge beast!) and the tutorial.

Ok, on to the next round! We uploaded the update last tuesday:


✓ added: 8 new unique items
✓ added: 2 rare items
✓ added: optional auto-aim for ranged units (go to the options menu to turn it on/off)
✓ added: Transmuter ➨ you can now scrap items in exchange for gold. say goodbye to overflowing backpacks!
✓ added: Shop ➨ the traveling shopkeeper has a lot of items for sale, even uniques.
✓ added: Ur-Steel ➨ Ur-Steel is the new global currency. you can buy it for real money and convert it into gold.
✓ added: increased the size of some buttons for better accessibility

➤ there's always a slim chance of gaining Ur-Steel in-game, either by
➨ defeating boss mobs OR
➨ by the transmutaion of unique/rare items

✓ balancing: tweaked some unit values on maps 2,4,5 and 6
