conecting ipad2 to iphone for internet conection

Hi i own an ipad2 64g wifi only ihave heard that you can use iphone to hook up on the internet when out away from home or wifi conection ihave iphone 3gs can any one please advise how and if i can do this

As far as I'm aware, on non-jail broken devices, this can only be done on the new iPhone4, which supports WiFi tethering. Other iPhones do not support tethering.

You can tether with the iphone 3Gs via bluetooth tethering and iphone4 wifi or bluetooth. No need to JB as long as both iphone and ipad are using same ios and you have signed up for tethering through cell phone company..

Success!!

Iphone3gs with 4.2.1 - enabled tethering under 'network' and enabled bluetooth
Ipad2 16G WiFi 4.3.3 - enabled bluetooth

paired Iphone and Ipad2

Powered up Safari on Ipad2 and connected to internet

Already had a 'data' plan enabled on the Iphone

No jailbreaking needed of either device

In the US both carriers offer 2GB hotspot plans for $20.

I'm assuming a month? I'm going to have to ask Tesco O2 if they do tethering. They didn't do it back along but I'm sure I heard that they would be implementing it soon!

Nope, that was correct at that time but I'm sure I've seen a more recent update, I must check when my iPhone 4 eventually gets here.

Where is an att 2gb hotspot plan??? I only see 4 gb for my iPhone at 45

That is the plan, people say 2gb because you are already paying for 2, that plan gives you another 2gb to use.
