9to5 Mac reports today that according to a story on iFun.de, Europe’s biggest telecoms company, Deutsche Telekom, is planning to start selling 3G iPad 2s in its retail stores in Germany, Poland, Greece, Austria and the Netherlands. Deutsche Telekom has yet to confirm that this is the case, but iFun.de says that it's only a matter of time. DT has already been providing 3G data tariffs for iPad users for a while now, but this will represent the first time that they have sold the iPads themselves. As 9to5 Mac notes, should the story prove to be accurate, it represents another significant development for Apple in Europe, with DT having such a wide reach throughout the continent. Interestingly, 9to5 Mac also points out that Apple’s new CEO, Tim Cook, is often credited with having a big hand in the success of Apple’s global sales network, which is a very good sign in general for the future of Apple with Cook at the helm.
