Directv app on Ipad

Downloaded the Directv app to my Ipad 2. Tried it and it said that in order to see the Directv streaming screen on the TV you had to have the Directv Cinema plus kit. Received the kit and set it up properly with my router - can see and utilize the Directv OnDemand sites but still cannot see the Directv streaming channels on the TV. What am I doing wrong or missing? Thanks for your help.

You must have a different Directv unit then I do because I didn't need the Directv Cinema kit. I have the HR22 DVR and all I had to add was a wireless N game adapter to stream to the ipad but then you say stream to your TV, you lost me there.
