Dock Inbox in Portriat Mode?

Is there a way to "dock" the inbox while in portrait mode like you can in landscape? I don't want the inbox to hover over the message. I would like for it to be side by side.

You have portrait and landscape mixed up. The Apple docks work in portrait mode, with the dock plug on the bottom.

I have Griffin A-frame stand that allows me to set the iPad in landscape and plug the Apple USB connector on the side. Works brilliantly. Many other third party stands would allow this as well. I have found I leave the iPad locked in landscape only switching for the occasional App that only works in Portrait.
