Try boats. You can have a 2012 boat, with a 2010 motor and 2011 drive. Drive manufacturers buy motors in bulk, then add the drive. Then they are shipped in batches to the boat manufacturers which will use them for 1-2 years or more until they run low.

What I've learned about boats is that it's better to have a friend with one than to own one yourself, lol. Actually, to have more than one friend with a boat, so that you can go with whichever friend whose boat isn't out of commission, in for maintenance, etc.
