Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!)

I'm getting kind of frustrated with trying to get my second Panlong - I've tried every recommended combo in the breeding guide (except with bone; I don't have one), and a couple folks have recommended here, no joy with any. Currently suffering through the beginning of 24 hr breed (crystal, right?) w/ Panlong-Crystal. Any suggestions welcome!
I honestly just did Blazing / Mud a lot. You have the rest of the year to get it, though, so don't be too frustrated.

Made a couple changes to my Shrine Island brochure, due to recent developments. But the really awful forum app that I use to post images is really awful, and wouldn't let me edit the images in the original post. I deleted the original one (with all the likes, so make sure you re-like this one, haw haw haw) and replaced it below, with correct pictures.

P.S. I hope you aren't offended that your name is in a mated pair. Remember, these dragons are not you, but dragons named after some of you.

Tommy B's Dragon Land

Shrine Island

Please use caution while visiting Tommy B's Dragon Land, as much of the park is still under construction. Some weird magic going on - don't get turned into a toad or nuthin!

Welcome to Shrine Island.

Here you will find a park dedicated to everything Dragonvale! The first thing you will see upon arrival is the circle of shrines to the different dragon elements, all fully life-sized and guaranteed to scare the kids (public restrooms are still under construction).

We greatly encourage visitors to take their time exploring this island (not just because the other islands aren't all done ...). Why? You're in for a treat.

Approach any of the dragon shrines. You will see, planted in a little flower bed before each shrine, a banner. This banner not only declares which dragon element the shrine is dedicated to, but each banner also bears a plaque with a bit of the history and habits of each dragon element, as well as a list describing each dragon in the park that is derived from that element. This is a great place for school field trips, as our public relations department has really crammed a wealth of knowledge and dragon lore upon each plaque. Another educational touch is that the flowers surrounding each banner are just those which are the very favorite treats of each dragon element (treats can be found in the gift shops)!

Another thing that will truly excite the kids (again, public restrooms are still under construction) is that each dragon shrine is fully animated! That's right, and not just clinky, clacky, hissing and unrealistic animatronics, but fully magicked statues that move just like the real thing! We've turned the sound off, though, because all that roaring was giving Shrine Island's caretakers headaches.

As you move outwards, you will notice something even more exciting. Not content with simple magicked statues of some of the rarest breeds of dragons, no, instead of shrines, you will see actual living specimens of the rarest dragons known to wizardkind!

Along the northern end of Shrine Island can be found two extremely rare yet beautiful pairs of Rainbow Dragons - each a mated pair. Their names are GTGirl and Coxy (on the left) and 250Strong and Vicky (on the right). Rainbow Dragons mate for life, and Tommy B has had the great luck to have found two pairs of unique beauty and playful temperament. Much of Tommy B's own knowledge and research can be found on the two Rainbow Dragon banners planted before each set of rainbow habitats, as well as the particular histories of each set, respectively.

If you proceed west, you will pass by the bright habitat of Segbert, our park's one and only Sun Dragon. The Shrine Island caretakers have placed a protective field around Segbert and his habitat, since full exposure to the majesty of any Sun Dragon's full heat and brightness would be harmful to our kind visitors. Beneath the Sun Dragon banner can be found a plaque detailing Sun Dragons in general, and our own Segbert in particular, surrounded by blooming dwarf sunflowers - Segbert's favorite (DO NOT FEED THE SUN DRAGON).

Continuing in a counter-clockwise fashion along the gleaming marble-and-gold pathway you will come to a very recent and extremely rare pair of Leap Year Dragons. It took Tommy B a lot of vigilant hunting and breeding know-how to attain this pair - he had to be at the right place at the very short right time to capture them! In fact, it is commonly thought that Tommy B was the very first wizard known to actually have brought the elusive LYD into captivity! Much like their distant kin - the Rainbow Dragon - LYDs mate for life. Once the LYD called ilUli (on the left) was brought into captivity on Shrine Island, it was fairly easy therefore to lure her mate - Skaterboy - to come join her. Their stories, and all of Tommy B's (scant) lore regarding the extremely shy LYD can be found on a plaque at the base of the very impressive (and working) astrolabe that sits between their two habitats.

If you continue around to the east, you will finally come upon Dragon Land's one and only Moon Dragon. You've heard the saying 'Once in a Blue Moon'? That seems to hold true for us, much to Tommy B's chagrin. To quote our founding wizard, 'But isn't a blue moon the second full moon in a month? How come I can't seem to breed a second one, then?' Whereupon he generally stomps off in disgruntlement (a good word, by the way). Nevertheless, Tommy B's Dragon Land's sole Moon Dragon remains a magnificent specimen of the breed, for all her solitary nature. Smurfette is an uncommonly beautiful Moon Dragon, also of sweet temperament. Read all about her from the plaque at the base of her own Moon Dragon banner, posted amid her favorite snack - Dragon Fruit Flowers (which, yes, bloom only at night; you can look that up).

With such a wealth of knowledge, such beautiful layout, such well-tended marble and gold paths, and such rare dragons, Tommy B's own Shrine Island is sure to delight visitors young and old!

Below, we invite you to enjoy some pictures of the island. Come back soon!

I know this is kinda off topic but does anyone here play words with friends? I'm always looking for a good challenge and I DON'T cheat

New here....I am having trouble getting the clover but most importantly the rainbow. Been playing for months and no luck. Starting to wonder if it's the way my islands are set up.....any help would be appreciated....My GCID is Shire Diner.......Thanks

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure your islands are fine. There has been speculation that boosts may affect breeding if they are on the island with your breeding cave. Not sure if this is true but I did remove mine and got my first Rainbows shortly afterwards some months back. There are also some really good combos and tips on this following link. Patience and peristance are key. I know some that have been playing pretty much since the game came out and they just recently got their first Rainbow. Keep at it, you will get them! I still haven't got a clover yet so I'm not much help there, but the link will be.

Welcome to the forum! The following link will help out with eggs and breeding times.

Eggs - DragonVale Wiki

I have another link here that our friend 250 strong created as well that will help with the rare combos as well as a few tips. It takes a lot of patience and persistance...that really is key and just sticking with it. Hope this helps.

I'm offended that my name is not in a mated pair.

Good stuff, sir. Very happy to see you take credit for being the first to capture the elusive LYD. Can't wait to read the blurb on the rest of the islands.

I had a dry spell in my grandson Jack's park. And then using Blazing with level 4 Mud it went Bang, Bang. Whether the level is important or not is still speculative, but that has become the classic combo. Good luck!

Ugh. Sorry for the crystal you got! *shudders* Have you tried panlong and level 4 plant yet? I would maybe try that over and over or maybe the same pair you used for the first one. I know it's frustrating but keep at it, you will get it. Another thing I do once in awhile is move onto something else for a few tries and then work on it again. Hope you get it soon.
