Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!)

Breeders try mud + storm for sun and moon dragons. Let me know how it works out and the tips about no boosters around the breeding cave worked for a couple of my friends so try that out as well. Breed on.
 
I managed to get a good result Using blue and crystal, with boosts still in the island on the second try. Still not sure what it is. Waiting for a moon most likely but I wouldn't complain about a rainbow. ;)
 
Anyone else getting frustrated with the inability to breed the special dragons? I know it is random and takes time but I don't have the money to just by gems to speed up breeding times to keep trying. Why is it some people are just more lucky at getting the 1% than others. Are you rushing the time with gems or is there some other trick I am missing. I have been doing seaweed and firefly for almost a week straight with no rainbow. Just removed all my boosts and took everything off the island but the cave, nests, and food mills to see if that does anything for me. Very frustrated that it seams like you have to buy your way for the special dragons and backflip isn't upgrading the game so I have no encouragement to put more money into it when it is holding at lvl 20 and no new goals. So are people getting these without paying for gems and if so what's the trick to increasing your chances.
 
Aphrael: I have also been frustratingly trying firefly and seaweed.. opposite order you are using with no results. I actually bought ten bux worth of gems to no avail. I think its truly random. I dont 'think' the boosts make any difference when it comes to breeding. They only effect gold amounts made. Just my opinion though. There are some other combos that work for others that can be found at dragonvale wiki but the firefly and seaweed seems to be popular.

Aphrael try blazing + crystal. That's how I got my rainbow.

I also used blue fire + crystal for one sun, and sonic + storm got me my second sun and my moon.

I also tried breeding my suns hoping for a rainbow, but my 3rd sun is now incubating.

I'm still working on blue fire; sand storm; rainbow; and now sun and moon.....I need another island too. LOL
 
About the moon; some of you say you have to breed during night, but what time? I mean when I have night in Sweden it's day in the states..
