Email folders have disappeared! Please help!

My inbox and trash folders were there earlier today, but have now disappeared. When viewing in portrait it says I am at the outbox (although no messages are visible) and when I view in landscape it says "mailboxes" but there is no list. I have tried tapping on the pointed corner as someone has suggested, but to no avail. What can I do to get the folders back?

Seems to be happening a lot lately. Try a soft-reset. Close all apps then - Hold down the HOME, bottom button, and the SLEEP, top button, for about 10 seconds until the Apple icon appears. Allow it to reboot, it may take a few minutes, don't panic like I did, wait for it to reboot. Cures many weird problems on iOS devices.

Thanks Pocobear for your reply. I had started to panic a bit so synced the mail accounts with my pc, and after a few "error" messages it seems to have worked.

Thanks again though - I will remember the soft reset tip for another time.
