Is there a way to copy a group images to paste into an email, or do they each need to be copy/pasted one at a time? Using iPad3 with the latest updates. Thank You.

Yes. You can "edit", "send" and "copy" the photos you want to send, then open a new email and "paste" the pictures into the email body.
This does work with more than the 5 photos which you can send directly from the photos-app.
