Email problem, always unread!!!!

hi all
When i receive a new email normally it is marked as unread, so i read it and close the email application the next time i open the application i found the same email marked as unread again!!!!!!!!!!!
any ideas what to do?

I would check the server settings or if you have multiple accounts are both being sent at different times.
