I sometimes see wreaths tied to the front grill of cars, which I like, but would never go through the effort of doing, even if my cars had a flat enough grill to attach to.

Aah! Chestnuts! Now you are talking. Love 'em. Two Xmas dinners done and dusted and a few more to go! 1 week left at school and then two weeks of holiday time (or in my case, paddy time!).

There was a time when chestnuts were ever present. Millions of chestnut trees, not nothing. The chestnut blight killed vast numbers of chestnut trees, almost all of them. I happen to love 'em and I truly like the lumber.

I'd love a batch of the homemade doughnuts my grandmother made. She'd ship them to us in brightly coloured Christmas tins. I was too young to dunk then in coffee then. I'd sure do it now. A melt in your mouth piece of heaven.

We also have Kentish Cob nuts. I believe they taste great. Mind you the guy selling them in Bromley High Street Market hasn't been around this year, so I'll have to search out a source.

That's sad to hear. It makes me feel old when all the old favourites start dying. I'm listening to Heart Fm radio for Somerset. Great Xmas music. I don't listen to much radio when I've got all my old favourites on my iPad and iPhone but at Xmas I like to hear people as well. I listen to Radio 1 top 40 for the Xmas no. 1. Was that yesterday or next week, damn I'd better go find out! Christmas lights by Coldplay now. Love them. I also watched the Steve Jobs documentary on BBC 1. They interviewed all his close colleagues, great tv.

I heard this morning that Little Mix is No1. However, I didn't think the Xmas to 40 was before Wednesday?
