What's new

Everything to do with XMAS!

I Love Christmas/Xmas! I wanted to find out how many of you celebrate it? How do your different countries celebrate? I'd love to know?

Are you with in-laws
Are you with your kids - grown-up or otherwise
Are you alone?
Are you with a partner?
What are hoping to get? Apple products? Books? Etc...
Need I go on? Anything goes...

Apologies for not answering your original post, way back, but here goes.
My wife and I are spending a traditional Christmas with in-laws in Cornwall this year. Her sister is quite the cook!
We are taking her elderly mother who is, unfortunately, terminally ill but still enjoys what life has to offer. It may be the last Christmas we can spend with her but we are looking at it positively. This is the only blight on a joyous occasion and we all intend to enjoy!
We have a daughter who will be able to spend New Year with us at home. As for presents, we are very fortunate as for us most days together is Christmas, truly. We listen to each other and buy our presents throughout the year. My wife likes what most women like but she often mentions something in particular. I obviously take note. As for me, I do enjoy my fly fishing and my beloved Barcelona football as does my wife (I am truly blessed). :)
The year before last she gave me the present of a stay in Barcelona and we took in a major game at Camp Nou. I already have a big surprise present arranged for next Christmas!
Each year, neither of us gets an inkling of what is in store.
Merry Christmas all.

Our Christmas is just the two of us as our son lives hundreds of miles away and will be cooking for others on the day, (he's a chef) We open one present after breakfast (Croisants hot from the oven) then later start preparing dinner, setting the table ect , after dinner we take liquor coffees into the lounge and give each other presents, I know what mine are, I have to choose them as they are antique sewing items, Hubby never knows till the day, We spend the rest of the day watching DVD's we buy for the day.

It's starting to look like Christmas at my house, the redecorating is finished and the tree is up, Putting up my tree is a major operation, its 7ft high and i have hundreds of ornaments, always glad when its done.

We were lucky to be offered a Norway spruce. For free! The seller didn't want to take them home. It was 3 days before Xmas eve. Wow! Best tree ever. Didn't drop at all. Not sure we could afford it ourselves.

That was lucky, the no needle drop ones are expensive, I put so much stuff on mine that it makes no difference really, the one we have now was really expensive but it's lasted a long time, still looks nice.

I'm enjoying my 13th chocolate from my Mars advent calendar. Nope, there is nothing saying I can't eat chocolate in the morning!

And it's Friday the 13th. Oops!
