Facebook chat function problems

My Facebook chat does not work. Whenever I try to chat with someone, their response comes back as an inbox message instead of chat. Any way around this?

Please don't bump threads after only six hours. Our rules allow you to "bump" threads after 48 hours if you haven't gotten any response. However, please remember hat this is an international forum ... some people may not even have had a chance to read your post. Give it some time.

If someone can help (I don't know the answer), they'll be along to help...

Agree. I've had problems with the Facebook app in going from events to news feed to chat and vice versa.

I had also same problem before, but it is solved now. I tried to work out the solution in Edited by Moderator - No external links, please read the forum rules.. The most interesting thing is I came to know about so many facebook chat features there.
