IS it possible to FaceTime over 3G/4G? I've tried with my latest gen. iPad but don't get any results. I don't even hear the ringer ringing.

No. You need to be on wifi for FaceTime to work. Skype is an alternative, as it will work on 3G.

Yep! Wifi only which blows since my 4G connection is faster than my home wifi It kills it for outdoor use too

Yea, it definitely sucks. I used to have DSL and my 3G was faster.
