Facts R Fun

If you're not too young, remember the static or "snow" on the screen of an analog TV after the station signed off for the night? About one percent of that static was caused by radiation left over from the Big Bang, 13,720,000,000 years ago.

We saw this for a few minutes after sign-off, but then the transmitter shut down for the night, leaving just snow until the next morning.

OMGosh!! You actually found one similar to ours! I will check with my brothers but am pretty sure the face and headdress took up most of the center of the screen. Of course we only had 1-2 channels! :) ;)

In Mali, Africa tattoos are commonly put on a person's gums using the carbon from burnt shells and tapped into the gum area with a sharp stick! My friend had this done before I met her their. Her gums were a dark purple for many, many years and even today are not pink like what we are used to! She said it hurt like hell!

The 47-story Tempo Tower in Benidorm, Spain, which is the tallest residential building in Europe, has no elevators. Maybe the architect thought about us being fit by having to walk up those 47 stories... :p

Just had to check this one out.....I don't think I'd want to walk up 47 stories!

Apparently this was reported but they are saying it was from a bad translation.

The building is ugly as hell, to be sure, but it does have elevators. It’s got not one, not two — it’s got eleven: 3 in each of the towers (two of them high capacity for lifting furniture), plus 4 for the penthouses on top, plus a panoramic one on the outside. It takes less than one minute to ride on them from bottom to top.
