Final Fantasy III was already released for iPhone a couple of weeks ago, and now TouchArcade reports that an iPad version of the classic RPG will be released by Square Enix to the app store on this coming Thursday, April 21. Square Enix made the announcement themselves via their Facebook page, complete with a tasty screenshot to whet our appetites. No word as yet on any enhancements for the iPad version, although I’m sure there will be a few. The iPhone version of the game has been a massive hit with Final Fantasy fans, earning 500 5-star ratings out of a possible 566 in the App Store.
Final Fantasy III was the first game in the series to sell over a million copies when it was first released in 1990, and the full-3D remake for the Nintendo DS released in 2006 also went on to sell over a million copies worldwide. I can’t wait to see how it looks on the iPad!
