This video is just too cool and too funny! It’s the announcement video from Rovio and NASA, about Angry Birds Space, of all the crazy collaborations! The video, courtesy of MacRumors, features NASA astronaut Don Pettit on the International Space Station, and he’s even brought along a furry Angry Bird toy to keep him company! Watch as he creates his own real-life Angry Bird scenario in space to show you the physics principles behind the game. The video also features the first gameplay footage from the forthcoming Angry Birds Space game, which will be released on iOS and Mac on March 22. The gameplay shows angry birds wearing space helmets using the physics of gravitational fields to get at the pigs. As much fun as all this is, especially if you’re an Angry Birds fan, Pettit also shows that there is a serious point to the whole exercise, as Angry Birds is a brilliant way of easily explaining the concept of gravity, or as NASA puts it in a post on its website:
“NASA participated with Rovio on Angry Birds Space under a Space Act Agreement to share the excitement of space with the Angry Birds community, educate users on NASA’s programs, and collaboratively create interactive educational experiences for the public.â€
