Hi everyone Parker here...I have the iPad 4 and I am trying to download Windows 365 Home Office on my iPad. When I attempt to download I get the error message that my operating system does not support the application.... Please advise and thanks in advance, I am looking forward to discovering what the iPad can do...

Thanks

Thank you for the welcome and response. When I purchased Windows Office 365 it stated it was for pc and Mac...I agree I don't think it is an app I was attempting to download directly from the Office website. Thanks again...Parker

Hi there and welcome.

Mac refers to laptops and desktops running Apple's OSX operating system. iPads run iOS as an operating system and although they are made by Apple they are not Mac's. somewhere on the specifications for the software it should say OSX version 10.x.x or higher. Only Apps (software) purchased from the App Store on your iPad will run on your iPad.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, etc. and iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the forum rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://help.apple.com/ipad/6/ and here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for iOS 4, 5, 6, etc.

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/ and for iPhone users, come and join in the discussion over at http://www.iphoneforums.net

The only way to install programs or applications is through the App Store app on your iPad. You can't download or install from websites, this includes .dmg or .exe files. It's an entirely different system than windows and osX. If the program you are looking for is not in the App Store, then you can't get that program on the iPad. As of today, there are no Microsoft office apps and no way, shape, or form to install it on the iPad. But there are alternative apps, such as pages, numbers, and keynote which work like word, excel, and PowerPoint
