Hello, I have an IPad 2 and have been using it for about six months now. It is my first introduction to Apple and while there are many things I love about it there are a couple of things I don't understand.

Recently I've been sent a couple of emails and they had PDFs embedded into them which I could not view. When you look at the inbox there is a paper clip symbol showing something is attached but when I open the email there is nothing to open and no pictures display. Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

Dachaidh.

(daa hee - it is Gaelic for home)

Hi, Dachaidh and welcome to the forum. Good to "see" you and hope you enjoy your visits.

When you open the mail, at the bottom, is there a message that says that the file needs to be fully downloaded? Sometimes, if the file is too big, you get that message. Or, you may get the file but it has a dotted outline and you have to press it to get a solid outline; then you can open it.

Or, sometimes, some PDFs are just not viewable on the iPad. Something to do with the way they are created and saved. I remember a conversation here about that - but I don't remember where it is, sorry.

I'm obviously not a fount of help, here, sorry. If the reasons I outline in the first paragraph don't apply to you, then I really don't know why your PDFs are not coming through. Hopefully, someone else will be along who knows...
