I see from multiple posts that remote accessing is the other option people suggest and I would have tried that if I had a PC/laptop at home (which I don't). I'm guessing then from the lack other suggestions from this and various other forums that there is no solution to my problem....

Have you looked at "ABC iview" in the app store?

This is the Flash Thread. If you can't be helpful ~ please don't post in it.

It is really very simple. No need for sarcasm, jokes, or rudeness. Flash questions will always be with us. Answer it or don't.

Back on Topic.

We have an Australian forum (under the international forums tab), it may be worth posting your question in there as someone who hasn't seen this thread may have an answer for you.

Yes, I love the ABC app... FANTASTIC... but as per my original post (#79) it's channel 7 I'm trying to access.

**note to other free-to-air TV stations that are trying to encourage people to view shows online - take note from the ABC app.... that is all***

...thank you...

BRILLIANT - my first real piece of assistance. I was not aware of the "australian forum" so will go there to see if anyone can assist. Thanks a lot :)

IS there a replacement for flash player on ipad2 so you can watch videos online?

Are there particular sites you want to watch. As many flash sites nowadays have compatible iOS apps.

Anyways have a look thru this thread and you will find many, MANY alternatives to the soon-to-be defunct flash.

Another vote for Splashtop. I've just been away at a wedding and left my laptop behind. Anytime I need anything that's on my laptop - or need to use a program that's on the laptop and can't be replicated by an app on the iPad, I just use Splashtop. It connects to my laptop in seconds and I have full control over every aspect of my remote machine - which is connected via an ADSL broadband WiFi router and in a distant corner of my house. It's like magic!

Tim

Hi Tim,
I use splash top but can't seem to figure out when I log off my iPad how to do that and still keep splash top accessible on my pc. Every time I log off splash top on iPad I also log off on my pc and that means I can't access my pc again until I get home and reboot splashtop.
Can you help with this? Am I missing something in this?

Splashtop should not do that. It should just disconnect and Tyne next time you try to connect it should connect right back up.
Check your desktop streamer and make sure the settings are so it doesn't close. (Internet discovery should be on)
Make sure when done you don't go into the desktop streamer settings and turn it off from the ipad. When you tap the home button on your ipad it will disconnect from the desktop, put the streamer in standby until next time you connect. There is no need to log off
Hope that helps. If not chime back in and we'll go from there

Thanks I will give it a go and let you know. :-)

in the first photo, don't bring this menu up and turn it off from the ipad.
In the second photo make sure those options are checked

Thank you so much that works great. While I have also says that I can save my password in the settings, I can't seem tins where. Is that on the iPad settings or the desktop streamer settings?

Here on the streamer. I'm not around my ipad so I can't double check but it's somewhere in the settings.
That's for allowing away from home network access only, not needed when on your home network
