The Sailor’s Dream is a lovely game from Simogo, the makers of Year Walk and the Apple-Design-Award-winning DEVICE 6. Accordig to Simogo, The Sailor’s Dream is not so much a game as “a peaceful narrative experience, in which the only object is to satisfy your curiosity.”
It’s certainly a very relaxing and different type of experience to the usual run-of-the-mill iOS game, requiring nothing more from the player than to explore the mysterious and “serene structures on dreamlike islands,” and put together memories.
As Phone Arena says of The Sailor’s Dream, it is very smooth and mellow to play, with the game’s soothing and atmospheric sounds being a big part of the experience, so much so that playing it with headphones is strongly advised to really get the most from the game.
If you’re looking to shoot an army of aliens, say, then this is most likely not the game, or experience, for you, but if you’re looking to take a break and a breather from the frenetic pace of life, then it might be time to sail away on the Sailor’s Dream!
