What's new

Food anyone?

It's a smoked chicken sausage with cut up bits of apple in it. It's suppose to cut the heat out of the brat since it is spicy! It's really tasty. We have some other ones that is chicken with garlic and spinach mixed. That's really good also!

I add some onion soup mix, an egg, worcester sauce (sp?) into the mix to give it some zing. Makes for a good burger---also if I have some blue cheese or white cheddar cheese in the house, might slip a bit in the middle of the patty prior to grilling. Delish.

Now that you mention onion soup mix and egg, I remember hearing about that; I'm going to try that one!

Hey sounds good, ldsdad!

We are going to do burgers tomorrow, thanks for the idea of burgers in the first place!

This thread is making me hungry...
"chicken sausage..." that sounds too good not to try; is there a natonal brand name for that I could find here in Illinois?

Well, I am partial to Italian Sausage, since I have some Italian bloodline! I also like chicken alfredo pizza, mexican pizza, and supreme.

Has anyone eaten what they believe to be the most bizzare pizza?

Sweet and sour sauce with chicken, peppers and onions. The sweet and sour sauce was very good on the pizza :-)

Not quite bizarre, but lemon pizza was different. Slices of lemon, skin and all, as a topping. Wasn't terrible, but not what I think of as pizza. It was described as traditional style.

In Asia, have had pizza with octopus, squid, shrimp. Couldn't bring myself to have tuna fish pizza, but have had various combos with corn strewn as topping.

Ooo the lemon pizza sounds good!

Ok, now I want pizza for lunch! Instead we are going to grill some chicken apple brats with iced tea. For dessert we will have a mix of blue berries, black berries over a dollop of whipped cream!

Now that's my kind of dish! Apple brats and fruit for dessert. Lately I'm stuck on cinnamon. I grilled my fish with it and topped it off with lime. Yumm!

Thanks skimonkey! Do you eat them like brats, or like breakfast sausage?

Definitely a brat...I also sliced up orange and yellow bell peppers along with 2 sliced onions...added a drizzle of toasted sesame seed oil and a pinch of sea salt...barbecued that on the grill and used it as topping on the brat with wheat bun!

A cold margarita also accompanied the dinner along with fresh berries and cream for dessert. It was splendid having it outside!
