I love all types of cheese but I just hate soft goat cheese,I can't get past that funky taste. I've had it in on many menus at restaurants I've work at. I remember back in the 80's the first time I tried it We would bake it in a fresh tomato sauce and serve it with grilled Ciabatta slices, it looked so good but when I tasted it I had to spit it out. Yuk!!

Yep..,some of it can be rather funky, but I do like grated cheese made from goats milk.

The secret to defunking goat's cheese is olive oil.
Just a drizzle with two twists of black pepper. Blend in a bit and spread. I use it that way on vegetable sandwiches all the time.

It's called "Pie d' Angloys" and it stinks.

At first glance I mistook the words "Pie d" as "Pied" so I wondered...

On the box it says "Created by Cistercian Monks in the 14th century..."
So no wonder it's stinky.
