Thx AA. Yes, we enjoyed cake making. Bread is a natural progression. My brother and I loved it when mum baked. The smell of new bread filled the house ... Of all my memories of my Grams, the one that sticks with me and makes me smile to this day, is of her baking.
She would make bread and rolls twice a week. Because she was so short, she'd stand on a chair at the kitchen counter, to get the leverage she needed to properly knead the dough. Tiny she was but she had upper arms like Popeye.

Richard an excellent site to learn how to bake bread is The Fresh Loaf. .........I started baking when I was a young kid because my dad liked baking bread and pizza making. I almost became a pastry chef but an apprenticeship came up and I became a restaurant chef, but baking has always been my passion.

I scored the squash, sprinkled it with salt and pepper and brushed honey over. The pie was shop bought beef & ale with a puff pastry topping.
