free calling app

You can also try the Talkatone or Whistle apps. They are good for free calling - well, at least within the USA (I don't know about elsewhere). Both are free apps to get from the App Store. With Talkatone, you get ad pictures and a choice to upgrade to a $19.99/year (USD) ad-free, enhanced service.

With Whistle, you have to listen to a 20 second or so commercial before you can dial (or, sometimes you just see ads, not hear them). I think there's an option to set up an account so you can pay to not hear the commercials, but I've not done it, so I don't know the cost...

Both have worked well for me in the past. Of course, and as always, YMMV.

Please do me a favor?

1) Do a search of this forum before posting questions about available apps. You could have easily found an answer about the telephone app by using that Google box up there in the top right of this forum

2) Please don't hijack your own thread to ask another question. Only one topic per thread. It keeps the forum neat, allows others to be able to use the Search function to find answers and, most importantly, complies with forum rules!

I'm going to close this thread as the original question has been asked and answered. Please start another if you wish an answer to your second question.

However, keep in mind that very few things offer free music downloads. If you are looking for something that'll help you download today's popular music for free - that's consider piracy and will not be condoned here. So, think about what you're asking for before you post that question (and make sure we understand you don't mean piracy).
